MISSISSIPPI BLUES |
Radio Interviews
Mission
Mississippi holds a colourful heritage across the realms of music, literature, racial and social milestones and with the likes of the legendary BB King emerging from the region, Mississippi stands proud as the birth place of blues music. The Mississippi Division of Tourism worked with us in 2010 to celebrate this thriving, dynamic blues scene still emerging from the area and to promote the state as the summer holiday destination of choice for Brits. To achieve this and also to add an element of fun and creativity to the campaign, the company also used this opportunity to raise the profile of the ‘Homemade Jamz Band’ as young, developing musical talent from the region. The band themselves along with Bill Serratt from the Mississippi blues commission were able to talk about what makes music ‘blues’, the history of the music and some of the main blues attractions in the region such as the Mississippi blues trail and the BB King museum. The interviews proved very successful with many of the presenters commenting on how enjoyable it was to chat to the young band, while Bill was able to provide an excellent authoritative voice on the musical history of Mississippi. Coverage highlights included Sky News Radio, BBC Radio Kent and Colourful Radio (London). Campaign in Numbers The Mississippi Division of Tourism secured a reach of 31,739,000 listeners with 2 hours and 12 minutes worth of coverage. The Mississippi Division of Tourism message was aired across 18 Radio Stations up and down the UK. |
