THE HALLOWEEN WITCH ACADEMY
|
Radio Interviews
A survey in 2014 revealed the extent to which people in Britain celebrate Halloween, with 8 in 10 getting involved with the festivities despite 86% not understanding the history behind it. The survey of 2,000 parents found that almost 9 in 10 (89%) said their children are keen to celebrate Halloween and over a quarter (28%) have encouraged their children to dress up. The Halloween Witch Academy, taking place on The London Eye, was an evening of fun activities for kids aged four to nine that ran throughout the week of Halloween in October 2014. The Halloween Witch Academy wanted to raise awareness of the event as well as encourage families to visit The London Eye this Halloween.
In order to maximise the campaign’s success, the Halloween Witch Academy utilised radio interviews, hosted with former Blue Peter presenter and pop star, Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s mother, Janet Ellis. Janet was on hand for all things Halloween and to offer ideas about costumes, party themes, and things to do to celebrate Halloween. Janet proved to be a popular spokesperson and the campaign secured coverage on 3 BBC Radio stations across the UK. |
