Santander conducted their own research into the expected growth of small businesses over the next five years with the results suggesting there would be around a 50% increase in small business profit. This research tied in perfectly with The Relations Group own annual campaign, Small Business Advice Week, a week which raises awareness and offers advice to solving the difficulties which small businesses face.
Santander's Head of Business Banking, Robin Foale, spoke on air and was able to give some essential tips for growth of small businesses, tips for writing a successful business plan and explained Santander's policy of lending to small businesses. His main tips for small businesses preparing to pitch to a bank like Santander included suggestions such as revisiting business plans, updating their budget to the best ability and also thinking about their customer service methods. Robin also displayed his personal experience of the enjoyment he receives from helping small businesses achieve their dreams by talking through an example of the growth and success that was achieved by of one of his own small business clients.
