Broadcast Media Training Preparation

Thanks for scheduling your media training with the Relations Group. This will give you a summary of the training and will enable you to prepare. 

Getting to the Media Training in Elstree

The media training is held in the studios located at:
Relations Group
Grosvenor Studios
197 Shenley Road
Borehamwood
WD6 1AR
The entrance is the blue door on Grosvenor Road directly opposite the Arch Restaurant. 

Directions by Car: 
The studios are located above the Barclays bank on the main high street in Borehamwood. 
Borehamwood can be accessed by the A1 from Junction 23 of the M25. Please use the postcode WD61AR for satnav. 
Parking:
There is free parking for 3 hours in the Tesco Car Park directly opposite the offices. There is also on street parking directly opposite the offices on Grosvenor Road and a limited number of spaces close to the office. 
Directions by Train: 
Elstree and Borehamwood is located in Zone 6 on the Thameslink train line with trains to and from London St Pancras every 15 minutes during peak times. The Relations Group is a 10 minute walk from the station on the high street or a 3 minute journey by taxi.

• Practice News (commercial) vs Feature (BBC) on Radio (15 Minutes)
• Communicating Key Messages, Without Breeching Editorial Guidelines. (15 Minutes)
• Final Questions 

Half Day Itinerary (4 Hours)
Morning Session: 9am arrival, 9:30am start and 1:30pm finish
Afternoon Session: 1:30pm arrival, 2pm start and 6pm finish

• Short Break
• How to create a soundbite based on your key messages. (15 minutes)
• Practice Radio Interviews Live and Pre-Recorded (with Feedback) (30 Minutes)
• Practice News (commercial) vs Feature (BBC) on Radio (15 Minutes)
• Communicating Key Messages, Without Breeching Editorial Guidelines. (15 Minutes)
• Short Break
• Practice TV Interviews - News, Feature and Lifestyle types (60 Minutes)
• Dealing with Challenging Journalists/Presenters (30 Minutes)
• Short Break
• Podcast Interview preparation (20 minutes)
• Podcast Interview (Recorded As If Live) (40 Minutes)
• Final Questions and Tips
